Metal Assemblies Ltd is commissioning its new HSG G3015H 12kW fibre laser cutting machine today, 15 October 2026, increasing capacity at our West Bromwich factory.
Following the installation of our first 3kW fibre laser earlier this year, this planned second investment supports new business wins and growing demand for large laser-cut, formed and welded assemblies.
Managing Director Mr Iain Collis and Technical Director Mr Nigel Mason identified an opportunity to bring Metal Assemblies’ established automotive manufacturing expertise to customers in additional sectors, including energy, construction and off-highway equipment.
Our automotive pedigree provides a strong foundation for these relationships. Experience of demanding quality requirements, repeatable production and disciplined engineering gives customers entering the business confidence in our ability to deliver complex assemblies consistently.
Advanced cutting capability
Part of HSG’s flagship GH Series, the G3015H is designed for demanding industrial sheet-metal production. Our new machine provides 12kW of laser power, with a published model cutting area of 3,100 × 1,550mm and a high-speed motion system designed to support efficient processing.
Working alongside our existing 3kW laser, it increases production flexibility and broadens our capability across suitable materials and thicknesses. Combined with our forming, welding and assembly operations, it strengthens our ability to manage projects from cut components through to complete fabricated assemblies.
For customers, this means:
• Additional capacity for new programmes and repeat production.
• Integrated cutting, forming and welding through one manufacturing partner.
• Flexible support for prototypes, design changes and production requirements.
• Established automotive manufacturing discipline applied to a wider range of products and sectors.
Supporting existing customers and opening new opportunities
Automotive remains an important part of Metal Assemblies’ business, and we continue to welcome opportunities to support both existing and new automotive customers during the sector’s challenging transition
This investment builds on that heritage while developing a broader customer base. It reflects Iain Collis and Nigel Mason’s confidence in the business’s engineering capabilities and their commitment to investing where those capabilities can meet new customer needs.
